Target Information

MLH1 is a DNA mismatch repair protein that plays a crucial role in maintaining genetic integrity. Defects in mismatch repair pathways, such as microsatellite instability (MSI), are associated with human carcinogenesis. Mutations in MLH1 are linked to hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer (HNPCC). MLH1 forms a heterodimer with PMSH after MSH2 binds to mismatched DNA, facilitating later steps in mismatch repair.
