Mouse anti-Bovine MHC class II DQ antibody, clone CC158 recognizes Bovine MHC Class II DQ.
MHC Class II molecules are expressed on antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells, B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, and activated T lymphocytes. Expression can be induced by interferon gamma on other cell types.


Target Information

HLA-DR is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of a 36 kDa alpha chain (DRA) and a 27 kDa beta chain (DRB).

  • The alpha chain gene contains 5 exons:
    • Exon 1 encodes the leader peptide
    • Exons 2 and 3 encode extracellular domains
    • Exon 4 encodes the transmembrane domain and cytoplasmic tail
  • DRA acts as the sole alpha chain for DRB1, DRB3, DRB4, and DRB5.
  • The beta chain determines peptide binding specificity, with hundreds of DRB1 alleles described.
  • HLA-DR is expressed on antigen-presenting cells such as B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, thymic epithelial cells, and activated T lymphocytes.
  • DR, DQ, and DP loci encode the major expressed products of the human class II region.
  • MHC class II molecules bind intracellularly processed peptides and present them to T-helper cells, playing a critical role in immune response initiation.

HLA and MHC antibodies are essential in Immunopeptidomics for identifying and characterizing neoantigens via high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.
