Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody 2H7CD155 recognizes CD155, also known as the poliovirus receptor. CD155 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with four isoforms; only the alpha and delta forms are expressed on the membrane of monocytes, prostate cancer cells, and neurectodermal or monocytic tumor cell lines. CD155 is also present during mid-gastrulation in embryonic development.
CD155 plays roles in:
- Cell adhesion via interaction with vitronectin (ECM component)
- NK cell-mediated tumor killing
Ligands for CD155 include CD226 and CD96. Blocking CD155 is under investigation for therapeutic prevention of poliovirus variants.
