Product Specific Information

  • This antibody is 94% homologous to mouse, rat, bovine, and chicken samples, and 76% homologous to xenopus.
  • Suggested positive control: mouse skeletal muscle lysate.

Target Information

ZNF198 is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein whose physiological role is largely unknown. It contains 5 N-terminal zinc finger motifs for protein-protein interactions, a central proline-rich domain, a C-terminal nuclear localization signal (NLS), and an acidic domain.
A reciprocal chromosomal translocation involving ZNF198 and FGFR1 results in the formation of the ZNF198/FGFR1 fusion kinase protein. This fusion protein acts as a constitutively active cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase, regulating STAT transcription factors (STAT1, STAT3, STAT5). It is oncogenic and associated with atypical myeloproliferative disease, peripheral blood eosinophilia, and T-cell leukemia/lymphoma.
