PA1-4146 detects GABA Receptor Associated Protein Subunit 2 in human and rat samples.
This antibody has been successfully used in Western blot procedures, detecting a ~105 kDa protein representing GABA Receptor Associated Protein Subunit 2 in brain lysate.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues T(42) R G A P R P P P S S P P(54) of the 105 kDa rat GABA R2 protein.

Target Information

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is the main inhibitory neurotransmitter that increases Cl⁻ conductance, inhibiting neuronal firing in the central nervous system. It activates both ionotropic (GABAA) and metabotropic (GABAB) receptors, as well as a third class called GABAC.
GABARAP (GABAA receptor-associated protein) links GABAA receptors to the cytoskeleton and may play a role in intracellular transport and receptor-cytoskeleton interactions.
GABARAP belongs to the MAP1 or ATG8-like family. Recent studies show that MAPK15/ERK8 interacts with ATG8 family proteins to regulate autophagy.
