HS3ST1은 항응고성 헤파란 황산(HSact) 합성의 속도 제한 효소로, 항트롬빈 펜타사카라이드 결합 부위의 구조 완성에 필수적인 단계적 변형을 수행합니다.
이 효소는 heparan sulfate biosynthetic enzyme family에 속하며, heparan sulfate glucosaminyl 3-O-sulfotransferase 활성을 가지고 있습니다.
Golgi 내강에 존재하며, 다양한 생물학적 기능을 수행하는 heparan sulfate 구조 생성을 조절합니다.
