Target Information

MAPK11 (p38 beta) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in various cellular processes and is activated by proinflammatory cytokines and environmental stress. The protein encoded by p38 MAPK beta belongs to the MAP kinase family, which acts as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals. It participates in processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation, and development. This kinase is closely related to p38 MAP kinase and can be activated by cytokines and stress via phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinases (MKKs), particularly MKK6. Transcription factor ATF2/CREB2 is a known substrate of this kinase.
