Target Information
Presenilin 1은 조기 발병형 알츠하이머병의 감수성과 관련된 단백질로 처음 확인되었습니다. PEN2, nicastrin, APH-1과 함께 γ-secretase 단백질 복합체를 형성하며, 이는 지질 이중층 내 특정 단백질의 펩타이드 결합을 절단하는 막 결합 아스파르틸 프로테아제입니다. 이 절단 과정은 세포막 수용체 신호전달의 중요한 단계이며, 알츠하이머병의 병태생리와 관련된 신경독성 아밀로이드 펩타이드 생성에도 관여합니다. Presenilin 1은 APP의 막내 영역을 절단하여 비독성 p3 또는 독성 Abeta 펩타이드를 생성할 수 있으며, 후자의 축적이 알츠하이머병의 원인으로 여겨집니다. Presenilin 1의 여러 isoform이 존재합니다.
