Target Information

These receptors belong to the large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) derived from single coding-exon genes. They share a 7-transmembrane domain structure with many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors and mediate odorant signal transduction. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the genome. Nomenclature for olfactory receptor genes and proteins is organism-specific.
