This antibody has been tested in indirect ELISA.
Target Information
The inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) family of proteins regulates programmed cell death triggered by various stimuli. All IAPs have at least one baculovirus IAP repeat (BIR) motif essential for anti-apoptotic activity. A mitochondrial serine protease, Omi/HtrA2, is released upon induction of apoptosis and binds to IAP. Like Smac/DIABLO, mature Omi contains a conserved IAP-binding motif (AVPS) at its N terminus. Deregulated expression of Omi in the cytoplasm induces apoptosis, suggesting its role in the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.
