Target Information

The SH3BP2 protein contains an N-terminal pleckstrin homology (PH) domain, an SH3-binding proline-rich region, and a C-terminal SH2 domain.
It binds to SH3 domains of several proteins including ABL1 and SYK tyrosine kinases and functions as a cytoplasmic adaptor protein that positively regulates transcriptional activity in T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and basophilic cells.
Mutations in SH3BP2 are associated with cherubism. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
