Description:
Monoclonal antibody TS2/7 reacts with human CD49a (integrin alpha 1). CD49a associates with CD29 (integrin beta 1) to form VLA-1, a type I transmembrane protein. This heterodimer is expressed by endothelial cells, activated T cells, monocytes, subsets of NK and memory T cells, smooth muscle cells, and mesenchymal stem cells. CD49a binds strongly to collagen IV and also interacts with collagen I, laminin, and semaphorin7A. It plays roles in cell survival, proliferation, homing, and inflammatory responses.
Applications Reported:
Validated for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometry using stimulated normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Fluorochrome Information:
PerCP-eFluor® 710 emits at 710 nm and is excited with a blue laser (488 nm). Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (695/40 acceptable). Ensure instrument compatibility.
Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect from light.

Target Information
Integrin alpha 1 (ITGA1) associates with beta 1 (ITGB1) to form a laminin/collagen receptor in neural and hematopoietic cells. ITGA1 contains a 206-amino acid I domain, three divalent cation-binding sites, a transmembrane domain, and 28 potential N-glycosylation sites. Expressed as a 180-kDa protein in fibroblast cells, ITGA1 is involved in osteoarthritic cartilage remodeling and regulates mesenchymal stem cell proliferation and cartilage production.
