Target Information

CD3z complex plays a crucial role in transducing antigen-recognition signals into the cytoplasm of T cells and regulating the surface expression of the TCR complex.
T cell activation involves CD3 gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits — members of the immunoglobulin superfamily encoded on human chromosome 11.
These subunits have long cytoplasmic tails that interact with signal transduction molecules via double tyrosine-based motifs.
CD3 is expressed on 68–82% of normal peripheral blood lymphocytes, 65–85% of thymocytes, and Purkinje cells in the cerebellum, but not on B or NK cells.
Decreased T lymphocyte percentages may be observed in certain autoimmune diseases.
Diseases associated with CD3z include Immunodeficiency 25 and T-B+ Severe Combined Immunodeficiency due to CD3delta/CD3epsilon/CD3zeta.
