Anti-Carbonic Anhydrase II Antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum by delipidation, salt fractionation, ion-exchange chromatography, and extensive dialysis.
Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum and purified Carbonic Anhydrase II (Bovine Erythrocytes).
Cross-reactivity with Carbonic Anhydrase II from other species may occur but is not determined.
Target Information
CA2 is one of several isozymes of carbonic anhydrase that catalyze reversible hydration of carbon dioxide.
Defects in CA2 are associated with osteopetrosis and renal tubular acidosis.
