This antibody detects endogenous levels of total PCAF.
Target Information
PCAF (histone acetyltransferase KAT2B) functions as a histone acetyltransferase (HAT) that promotes transcriptional activation. It acetylates histones H3 and H4 as well as non-histone proteins such as ACLY, PLK4, and TBX5. PCAF inhibits cell-cycle progression and counteracts the mitogenic activity of adenoviral oncoprotein E1A. It also acts as a circadian transcriptional coactivator enhancing the activity of NPAS2-ARNTL/BMAL1 and CLOCK-ARNTL/BMAL1 heterodimers. PCAF is involved in heart and limb development via acetylation of TBX5 and regulation of its nucleocytoplasmic shuttling.
