Target Information
Histones are nuclear proteins that play an important role in maintaining the structure of chromosomes in eukaryotes. The nucleosome consists of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a histone octamer composed of H2A, H2B, H3, and H4.
H2A contributes to proper centromere assembly and function and plays an important role in gene regulation. The protein can be modified by acetylation and phosphorylation.
