Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The protein encoded by the CDK2AP1 gene is a cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2)-associated protein that negatively regulates CDK2 activity by sequestering monomeric CDK2 and targeting it for proteolysis. It interacts with DNA polymerase alpha/primase and mediates phosphorylation of the large p180 subunit, suggesting a regulatory role in DNA replication during the S-phase.
Additionally, CDK2AP1 forms a core subunit of the nucleosome remodeling and histone deacetylation (NURD) complex, which epigenetically regulates embryonic stem cell differentiation. Thus, this gene is involved in both cell-cycle and epigenetic regulation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
