Target Information
The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins that bind to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) and localize the holoenzyme to specific cellular compartments.
AKAP6 is highly expressed in brain regions, cardiac and skeletal muscle, and is localized to the sarcoplasmic reticulum and nuclear membrane, where it anchors PKA to these structures.
