C20orf134 is a 245 amino acid secreted protein belonging to the Actin family and encoded by a gene on human chromosome 20. This chromosome contains about 63 million bases and over 600 genes, some associated with diseases such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, spinal muscular atrophy, ring chromosome 20 epilepsy syndrome, and Alagille syndrome. It also includes regions important for seminal production and potential targets for male contraception.
