Target Information
Toxoplasma gondii는 척추동물의 다양한 조직 내에서 세포 내 기생하는 초승달 모양의 포자충(sporozoan)입니다.
감염은 주로 덜 익힌 육류, 오염된 토양, 또는 직접 접촉을 통해 전파됩니다.
면역억제 상태의 임산부나 장기 이식 후 면역억제 치료 중인 환자에서 감염이 발생할 수 있습니다.
감염 시 발열, 비장 비대 등의 증상이 나타나며, 대부분 경미하지만 림프절 감염 시 심각할 수 있습니다.
선천성 톡소플라스마증은 임신 중 모체 감염이 태아로 전이되어 신생아의 시력 손상이나 정신 지체를 유발할 수 있습니다.
건강한 사람에서는 일반적으로 무증상이지만, 면역 기능이 저하된 경우 심각한 합병증을 일으킬 수 있습니다.
