Antibody detects endogenous levels of total TDE1.
Target Information
TDE1 (tumor differentially expressed protein 1) is a multi-pass membrane protein also known as serine incorporator 3. It is localized on the membranes of the Golgi apparatus and is highly expressed in neuronal populations, as well as in thymus, kidney, liver, and testis. TDE1 expression in tumors can be up to tenfold higher than in normal tissues, suggesting its involvement in oncogenesis by protecting cells from serum starvation and etoposide-induced apoptosis. The exact protective mechanism remains unclear but may involve aberrant methylation of TDE1 complexes.
