Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
eIF4E is involved in multiple cellular processes such as translational efficiency, splicing, mRNA stability, and RNA nuclear export.
All eukaryotic mRNAs contain a 7-methylguanosine cap (m7GpppX) at the 5′ end. EIF4E acts as a eukaryotic translation initiation factor that directs ribosomes to this cap structure.
It is a 24-kDa polypeptide that exists both freely and as part of the EIF4F complex. EIF4E is the rate-limiting component in eukaryotic translation initiation and mediates mRNA-ribosome binding.
The EIF4F complex also includes EIF4A (50 kDa, ATPase and RNA helicase activity) and EIF4G (220 kDa).
