Target Information
N6-methyladenosine (m6A), or methylation of the N6 position of adenosine, is a posttranscriptional modification of RNA. Due to limited analytical methods, N6-methyladenosine has been poorly understood, but new evidence suggests it is a common base modification and an important physiological regulator. It is markedly increased during brain development and enriched near stop codons, microRNA-binding sites, and UTRs, indicating a fundamental role in gene expression regulation. N6-methyladenosine is also highly conserved between human and mouse.
