Glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase 1 (GPAT1):
GPAT1은 네 가지 알려진 GPAT 동형 단백질 중 하나로, 미토콘드리아 외막에 위치하며 카르니틴 팔미토일트랜스퍼레이스-1과 상호 조절됩니다. 간 지방증(hepatic steatosis)과 인슐린 저항성 발달에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
GPAT1은 인슐린과 SREBP-1에 의해 전사적으로 상향 조절되고, AMP-activated protein kinase에 의해 하향 조절됩니다. GPAT1 결핍 마우스는 심근세포 내 TAG 축적이 감소하며, 이는 고지방 식이에서도 동일하게 나타납니다. 최소 두 가지 GPAT1 동형 단백질이 존재하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
