Product Specific Information
Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).
Target Information
The RAMP1 protein is a member of the RAMP family of single-transmembrane-domain proteins, known as receptor (calcitonin) activity modifying proteins (RAMPs).
RAMPs are type I transmembrane proteins with an extracellular N terminus and a cytoplasmic C terminus.
They are required for transporting calcitonin-receptor-like receptor (CRLR) to the plasma membrane.
CRLR can function as either a calcitonin-gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor or an adrenomedullin receptor, depending on RAMP family expression.
In the presence of RAMP1, CRLR functions as a CGRP receptor.
RAMP1 is involved in terminal glycosylation, maturation, and presentation of the CGRP receptor to the cell surface.
