Target Information
This gene was identified by its ability to suppress the tumorigenicity of HeLa cells in nude mice. The encoded protein contains a C-terminal region similar to the Rab3 family of small GTP-binding proteins. It preferentially binds to the SH3 domain of c-Abl kinase and regulates MAPK1/ERK2 kinase activity, contributing to reduced tumorigenic phenotype. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
