The eBio5E8-C7-F10 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD182 (CXCR2, IL-8R beta).
CD182 is a 67–70 kDa member of the seven-transmembrane spanning G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) family. It is expressed as a homodimer or heterodimer with CD181 (CXCR1, IL-8R alpha) and is found on granulocytes, NK cells, subsets of T cells, mast cells, monocytes, endothelial cells, megakaryocytes, and oligodendrocytes.

Binding of its ligands (IL-8, NAP-2, GCP-2, GROα/β/γ) induces cellular activation, chemotaxis, proliferation, and angiogenesis.
While both CD181 and CD182 mediate chemotaxis and calcium signaling, only CD181 activates phospholipase D and respiratory burst. IL-8 primarily mediates neutrophil function via CD181.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells.
Use 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (in 100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

CXCR2 is a receptor for interleukin-8, a potent neutrophil chemotactic factor, and a member of the GPCR family.
Binding of IL-8 to CXCR2 activates neutrophils via a G-protein-mediated phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.
CXCR2 binds IL-8, GRO/MGSA, and NAP-2 with high affinity and is expressed in multiple tissues, including placenta and thymus.
