Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a transcription factor that binds the consensus sequence 5'-GCCNNNGGC-3'. It functions as a homodimer or heterodimer with similar family members, activating or inhibiting transcription of various genes. Mutations in this gene are associated with branchiooculofacial syndrome. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
