Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure recombinant Human IL-5. Anti-Human IL-5-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and subsequently biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
For detection of Human IL-5 using sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL is recommended. When used with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human IL-5 (500-P25) as a capture antibody, it enables detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well recombinant Human IL-5.

Western Blot:
For detection of Human IL-5 by Western blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

IL-5 is a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for B cells and eosinophils. It regulates eosinopoiesis, eosinophil maturation, and activation. Elevated IL-5 levels are associated with asthma and hypereosinophilic syndromes. The IL-5 receptor is a heterodimer sharing its beta subunit with IL-3 and CSF2/GM-CSF receptors. IL-5, IL4, IL13, and CSF2 form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q31, regulated by long-range elements.
