Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Aldh3A2 is a member of the aldehyde dehydrogenase superfamily, a group of NAD(P)(+)-dependent enzymes that catalyze oxidation of various aldehydes. These enzymes play a major role in detoxifying aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation.
Aldh3A2 catalyzes the oxidation of long-chain aliphatic aldehydes to fatty acids. Mutations in the Aldh3A2 gene cause Sjögren-Larsson syndrome, characterized by ichthyosis, mental retardation, and spastic diplegia. The pathogenesis is linked to abnormal lipid accumulation, aldehyde Schiff base formation, or defective eicosanoid metabolism.
