This antibody detects endogenous levels of SLP76 only when phosphorylated at Tyr173.

Target Information

SLP-76 was originally identified as a substrate of the ZAP-70 protein tyrosine kinase following T cell receptor (TCR) ligation in the leukemic T cell line Jurkat.
The SLP-76 locus is localized to human chromosome 5q33 and partially characterized in mice.
Human and murine cDNAs encode 533 amino acid proteins that are 72% identical and consist of three modular domains:

• NH2-terminus: Acidic region with a PEST domain and tyrosine residues phosphorylated after TCR ligation
• Central region: Proline-rich domain
• COOH-terminus: SH2 domain

SLP-76 interacts with multiple proteins both constitutively and inducibly following receptor ligation, functioning as an adaptor or scaffold protein.
Studies using SLP-76 deficient T cell lines or mice show SLP-76 promotes T cell development and activation, as well as mast cell and platelet function.
