Purification Process

The Norgen water purification system, developed in collaboration with Millipore Sigma, uses a two-stage purification process:

1. Stage 1 – Type II Water Production:
   Pre-treatment with activated charcoal and polyphosphate, followed by reverse osmosis, electro-deionization, ion exchange, and UV disinfection.

2. Stage 2 – Ultrapure Water Production:
   Additional ion exchange, ultrafiltration to remove particulates, bacteria, and ionic contaminants, UV treatment (182 nm) to degrade organic matter, and a final ultrafilter for pyrogen-, nuclease-, and bacteria-free water (18.2 MΩ).

This process yields water of the highest purity for direct use in molecular biology and cell culture applications.
