Thymidine phosphorylase (TP) 또는 gliostatin으로도 알려진 platelet-derived endothelial growth factor (PD-ECGF)는 무기 인산염 존재하에 thymidine과 deoxyuridine을 해당 염기 및 2-deoxyribose-1-phosphate로 가역적 인산분해 반응을 촉매합니다.
이 단백질은 내피세포에 대한 화학유인 및 증식 촉진 효과를 가지며, 혈소판에 존재하는 비-heparin 결합성 혈관신생 인자입니다. 또한 다양한 악성종양 치료에 사용되는 fluoropyrimidine계 항암제의 활성 대사체 전환에도 관여합니다.
