Product Introduction

This system is designed for use with SVE-2 vertical electrophoresis. It transfers proteins, nucleic acids, and other charged molecules from the gel to a transfer membrane using an electric field for subsequent biochemical analysis.

Operation Process

4.1 Preparation

Prepare 8 pieces of 7×9 cm thin transfer membrane filter paper or 2 pieces of thick filter paper of the same specification, and 1 piece of 7×9 cm PVDF membrane.
Use 0.45 μm pore size for proteins >20 kDa, and 0.2 μm for proteins <20 kDa.

4.2 Activation

Activate the PVDF membrane with methanol for 2 minutes before use.

4.3 Installation

Follow the sequence:
positive electrode (+) → sponge → filter paper → transfer membrane → gel → filter paper → sponge → negative electrode (–)
Remove air bubbles during assembly. The red side represents the positive direction, and the black side the negative direction. Place the transfer clip into the transfer core, aligning red to red and black to black. The transfer core accommodates two clips simultaneously.

Black: Negative
Red: Positive
Sponge / filter paper / transfer membrane / gel / filter paper / sponge

4.4 Power-On Transfer

Connect the electrophoresis power supply, set transfer conditions, and start the membrane transfer.

Precautions

1. Handle carefully; main components are fragile and may be damaged by impact or dropping.
2. Inspect platinum wire and electrode columns regularly for oxidation, breakage, or loosening; replace or maintain as needed.
3. After each use, rinse with deionized water and dry in a dust-free area.
