MAGEB4 유전자는 MAGEB 유전자 패밀리에 속하며, 이 패밀리의 구성원들은 코딩 서열이 마지막 엑손에 위치하고 단백질 간 50~68%의 서열 동일성을 보입니다. 프로모터와 첫 번째 엑손의 다양성으로 인해 동일한 기능이 서로 다른 전사 조절 하에서 발현될 수 있습니다. MAGEB 유전자는 Xp22-p21 염색체 영역에 클러스터되어 있으며, MAGEB1의 첫 번째 인트론에서 서열이 종료됩니다. 이 유전자는 고환에서 발현됩니다.
