Target Information
FANCD2 (Fanconi anemia group D2 protein) is required for maintenance of chromosomal stability. It promotes accurate and efficient pairing of homologs during meiosis and is involved in the repair of DNA double-stranded breaks via homologous recombination and single-stranded annealing. FANCD2 stabilizes BLM at abnormal replication structures and promotes BRCA2/FANCD1 loading onto damaged chromatin. Mutations in FANCD2 cause Fanconi anemia complementation group D2, affecting bone marrow and leading to anemia, leukopenia, and thrombopenia.
