Immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Rabbit Serum, as well as purified and partially purified α1-Acid Glycoprotein (Human Plasma).
Cross-reactivity against α1-Acid Glycoprotein from other sources is unknown.
Target Information
ORM1 is an acute phase plasma protein synthesized by the liver. It regulates interactions between blood cells and endothelial cells, and along with haptoglobin and C-reactive protein, controls cell extravasation during infection and inflammation.
ORM1 is a major acute phase reactant in humans and rats. In human plasma, ORM1 (44 kDa) is found at levels of 0.5–1.4 mg/mL. Its concentration increases during acute inflammation (e.g., trauma, malignancies, myocardial infarction, rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial infections, post-surgery, chronic pain).
It can be used for research into inflammatory conditions.
