Product Specific Information

MA5-15913 targets TNNI2 in indirect ELISA, FACS, IHC, and WB applications and shows reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human TNNI2 expressed in E. coli.
MA5-15913 detects TNNI2, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 21 kDa.

Target Information

The TNNI2 gene encodes a fast-twitch skeletal muscle protein, part of the troponin I family and a component of the troponin complex (troponin T, C, and I subunits). This complex, together with tropomyosin, regulates calcium-dependent striated muscle contraction.
Mouse studies indicate expression in vascular smooth muscle, suggesting a role in smooth muscle regulation.
Beyond muscle tissues, TNNI2 is found in corneal epithelium and cartilage, acting as an angiogenesis inhibitor to suppress tumor growth and metastasis. In mammary glands, it functions as a co-activator of estrogen receptor-related receptor alpha.
This protein suppresses tumor growth in human ovarian carcinoma. Mutations in this gene are associated with myopathy and distal arthrogryposis type 2B.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
