Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene contains SH2 and SOCS BOX domains, classifying it as a member of the suppressor of cytokine signaling (SOCS) family, also known as STAT-induced STAT inhibitor (SSI). SOCS proteins act as cytokine-inducible negative regulators of cytokine signaling. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene.
