Casein kinase I (CKI)와 casein kinase II (CKII)는 모든 진핵생물에서 발견되는 세린/트레오닌 단백질 키나아제 계열에 속합니다. CKI 계열(α, γ, ε, δ)은 DNA 복제 및 수선 등 세포질 및 핵 내 과정 조절에 관여합니다. CKII는 일반적으로 α2β2 또는 αα'β2 구조의 사량체 복합체로 존재하며, β 조절 소단위체에 의해 α 촉매 소단위체가 활성화됩니다. CKII는 증식 및 분화 중인 세포의 세포질과 핵에서 높은 활성을 보이며, 핵 온코단백질, 전사 인자, DNA 대사 관련 효소 등 100개 이상의 기질을 인산화하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
