P2Y1는 Purinergic Receptor로, ADP 결합 시 혈소판 형태 변화를 유도하고, phospholipase C 활성화를 통해 세포 내 칼슘 이온을 동원하여 혈소판 응집을 유발할 수 있습니다. 또한 nitric oxide 방출을 매개하며, 신경 신호 전달 조절에 관여할 수 있습니다. P2Y1은 뇌를 포함한 다양한 조직에서 발현되며, 인간 배아, 폐, 태반 라이브러리에서 EST가 분리된 바 있습니다.
