Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, approximately 20% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) MCP-2 is observed.
- Less than 1% cross-reactivity with rhMCP-4, recombinant mouse (rm) MCP-5, and rmEotaxin is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
This antimicrobial gene belongs to a chemokine gene cluster on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Chemokines are secreted proteins involved in immune regulation and inflammation.
The CC subfamily, characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues, includes this cytokine, which exhibits chemotactic activity for monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils, and eosinophils.
By recruiting leukocytes to inflammation sites, this cytokine may contribute to tumor-associated leukocyte infiltration and antiviral responses against HIV infection.
