Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Apolipoprotein D (APOD) is a component of high-density lipoprotein that has no marked similarity to other apolipoprotein sequences. It has a high degree of homology to plasma retinol-binding protein and other members of the alpha-2 microglobulin protein superfamily of carrier proteins, also known as lipocalins.
This glycoprotein is closely associated with the enzyme lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase, which is involved in lipoprotein metabolism.
