이 단백질은 체세포 줄기세포 유지에 중요한 역할을 하며, 줄기세포 바이오마커로 연구되고 있습니다.
아연 핑거 전사인자(zinc finger transcription factor)로서, Oct4 및 Sox2와 상호작용하며 Nanog와 복합체를 형성하여 배아줄기세포(ESCs)의 다분화성 유지에 기여합니다.
