Target Information
Cyclic nucleotides are crucial second messengers that regulate cellular responses to extracellular signals such as hormones, light, and neurotransmitters. Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases (PDEs) control the cellular concentrations of cyclic nucleotides and thus play a key role in signal transduction. PDE4A is a class IV cAMP-specific phosphodiesterase.
