Target Information
MAP2 (Microtubule Associated Protein 2)는 두 가지 고분자량 형태(MAP2a 및 MAP2b)와 저분자량 형태로 존재합니다. MAP2의 발현은 발달 단계에 따라 조절되며, 단일 유전자의 대체 스플라이싱으로 다양한 형태가 생성됩니다. MAP2는 미세소관 조립에 관여하며, 이는 신경발생(neurogenesis)에 필수적인 단계입니다.
쥐와 마우스의 유사 유전자는 뉴런 특이적 세포골격 단백질로서 수상돌기(dendrite)에 풍부하게 존재하며, 뉴런 발달 중 수상돌기의 형태 결정 및 안정화에 중요한 역할을 합니다. MAP2는 정상 및 악성 뇌 조직의 신경세포 구조 연구뿐만 아니라 알츠하이머병(Alzheimer’s Disease)과 같은 퇴행성 질환 연구에도 유용합니다.
