Recombinant Murine IL-17F is a 30 kDa, disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of two 134 amino acid residue chains.

Target Information

IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8) is a cytokine belonging to the IL-17 family, produced by inflammatory cells such as activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils.
It is involved in allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules in bronchial epithelial cells, endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and eosinophils.

IL-17F may be secreted as a homodimer or heterodimer with IL-17A. It binds to the IL-17R receptor, promoting monocyte and neutrophil recruitment by increasing chemokine production.
It also stimulates pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8, and is implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.

TGF-β (for differentiation) and IL-23 (for expansion) are required for Th17 cell induction and maintenance, which in turn produce IL-17 cytokines.
IL-17F inhibits endothelial cell angiogenesis and induces production of IL-2, TGF-β, and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1.
