Target Information
The RNF40 gene encodes a protein containing a RING finger motif, involved in protein–protein and protein–DNA interactions. It has been reported to interact with the tumor suppressor protein RB1. Studies suggest that this protein may act as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, facilitating the ubiquitination and degradation of syntaxin 1, an essential component of the neurotransmitter release machinery.
