Target Information
Heterochromatin protein-1 (HP1)은 methyl-lysine 결합 단백질로, heterochromatin 부위에 위치하여 유전자 침묵화를 매개합니다. Histone H3의 lysine-9을 선택적으로 메틸화하는 methyltransferase는 HP1 단백질 결합 부위를 생성하며, 이는 유전자 침묵화 및 염색질 구조 유지에 관여합니다. HP1 chromodomain은 methylated histone H3 peptide와의 특이적 상호작용을 담당하며, SUV39H1 HMTase 활성 복귀 시 heterochromatin 결합이 회복됩니다.
