Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

CA14 belongs to a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. The protein is predicted to be a type I membrane protein and shares high sequence similarity with the other transmembrane CA isoform, CA XII; however, they have different patterns of tissue-specific expression and may play distinct physiological roles.
